The pre-race dinner with Bruce Jenner is open to everyone - runners,
walkers, spectators, volunteers, family and friends. It will be held at
Hammons Field, home of the Springfield Cardinals.
Bruce Jenner captivated
the world when he broke the world record by scoring 8,634 points in the
decathlon at the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal and earned the title,
“World’s Greatest Athlete.”
The Olympic Hall of Famer
is one of today’s most highly sought-after speakers. Bruce’s passion as a
motivational speaker has gained him national attention. Audiences are
captivated by his unique Olympics, personal and professional success story,
which he highlights in his message, “Finding the Champion Within.” Bruce’s
energy translates easily into his presentations and audiences are visibly
moved by his story and lessons that have made him a success.
The pasta is being
provided by
Chef Nicola Gillardi of Ristorante Gillardi, located at 820 E. Walnut Street,
Springfield. Gillardi's was voted Best Italian Restaurant in the area by 417
Magazine. This carb-load dinner is a great way to kick off the Sunshine Run
events. Come pick up your packet, participant T-shirt, browse through the
Wellness Expo and then carb up on Gilardi’s pasta!
Tickets for dinner are $12
and can be purchased at participating O'Reilly Auto Parts stores in the
region or online.
