Microdermabrasion
.................................................................................................................................................

Microdermabrasion can be used for:

¢ Sun-induced pigmentation problems, melasma, age spots on the face and
   neck.
¢ Reduction of whiteheads and blackheads.
¢ Blending of fine lines and minor wrinkles.
¢ Reduction of dormant acne scars and blemishes.
¢ Blending lasered to non-lasered areas after laser skin resurfacing.
¢ Reduction of well-healed, raised scars and calluses.
¢ Enhanced application of self-tanning products.

Before Your Treatment

¢ For clients with a tendency toward herpetic outbreaks, we recommend
you obtain a prescription for Zovirax or Acyclovir from your physician. This
medication should be used three days before through two days after
treatment, for a total of five days.

¢ Acne clients who have taken Accutane must be off the drug for a
minimum of four weeks before undergoing any microdermabrasion
   treatments.

¢ Clients should avoid AHA products and retinols/retinoids for three days
before and three days after each treatment.

¢ Clients who have collagen replacement therapy should be advised to wait
at least 10-14 days after their injection before having microdermabrasion
treatments. Ideally, the client would be asked to wait until after the
microdermabrasion procedure to have the collagen injections.

¢ We recommend Botox patients have microdermabrasion treatments
   before the injections.

¢ With the use of carefully chosen skin-care products, you can dramatically
enhance the immediate results of the microdermabrasion treatment.

¢ Anything applied post-treatment is absorbed very quickly and deeply. You
should use moisturizers that have a sunscreen of SPF 15 or more.

¢ For the next 24 hours, avoid strenous exercise or any activity that causes
excessive perspiration. It is imperative that NO TANNING is done while
you are undergoing these treatments. Retinol/AHA usage should be
discontinued for three days before through three days after treatments.
Refrain from waxing, electrolysis or depilatories (removing unwanted hairs)
for at least seven days. Drink additional water. Use of cold compresses
can provide relief from the wind-burned feeling. Makeup may be applied
within one hour post-treatment. Your treated skin may be sensitive to any
alpha hydroxy products, Retinol products and the sun for a number or
   days.
