SPORTS MEDICINE-HEALTHTRACKS RUNNING CLINIC
St. John’s
Sports Medicine is hosting a running clinic from 7pm to 8:30pm Tuesday, May
5 at St. John’s Sports Medicine
HealthTracks, 4331 S. Fremont
Ave, Springfield.
Learn to run easier,
faster, and injury free with Missouri State University Head Track and Field
Coach, Ron Boyce. Boyce serves as the sprint development coordinator at St. John’s Sports
Medicine- HealthTracks, in addition to his head coaching position at MSU. In
his 12 years at MSU, Boyce’s teams claimed eight Missouri Valley Conference
(MVC) Championships, including the coveted MVC Triple Crown in 2002-2003. At
MSU, Boyce has coached 14 NCAA all Americans, including the 2006 national
runner up, and Olympians in the 1996 and 2000 summer games.
Throughout the clinic
coaches, athletes and parents will listen to Coach Boyce discuss many
different aspects of running including:

Coaching points

Trouble spots
-
Drills
-
Starts
-
Strength training
-
Plyometrics
Missouri State
athletes will be on hand to help demonstrate the different techniques and
drills.
Refreshments will be
served and registration is required. For ages 10-18 $5, $10 for adults.
