“In talking with women during their
heart-health consultations, we have found that many of them don’t
necessarily have a strong support system in place to encourage them to
lead a heart-healthy lifestyle,” says Sheila Bowen, RN, BSN, MA, Women’s
Heart Center coordinator.
“Girls At Heart offers that support and
camaraderie, along with education about exercise and heart-healthy meals
on the go and plenty of time for socializing. We recognize that many of
these women are still working outside the home and leading busy lives, so
that’s why Girls At Heart is an evening program.”
St. John’s Women’s Heart Center educates Ozarks women about heart health
with a focus on prevention and is part of St. John’s cardiopulmonary
rehabilitation program. The center is located at the north entrance
of Hammons Heart Institute. For more information,
