Tips On…Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is a common, contagious respiratory infection caused by a virus. The influenza virus causes more severe symptoms than the cold viruses. Outbreaks of different forms of the influenza virus occur almost every winter with varying degrees of severity.

The Centers for Disease Control recommend flu shots for those who are age 65 and older, the chronically ill and their families, and health care professionals in close contact with those who are at risk. Flu shots are available at your physician’s office.
