St. John's Foundation for Community Health
Investing in Medical Research
St. John's Medical Research Board
The collaboration between the Foundation and St. John's Medical Research
Board creates a winning partnership for health care in the community. Medical research is on the cutting edge, opening new doors and developing new insights into what have been the mysteries of both health and illness. The Foundation commends the physicians and staff at St. John's who are part of the research enterprise as well as the patients who volunteer for the clinical trials. Together they not only improve the prospects for disease prevention and cure, but they are also generating resources the Foundation will invest toward the improvement of health status in the region.
Foundation resources generated through medical research efforts will be invested in health system services, enabling the acquisition of equipment and technology that will equip physicians to provide state-of-the-art treatment options for patients.

Cancer Research for the Ozarks
Cancer Research for the Ozarks (CCOP) a joint venture by CoxHealth and St. John's. Two satellite offices are located in Branson and West Plains.
Affiliate sites are located in Rolla, (Phelps County Regional Medical Center)
and Joplin (Freeman Health System and St. John's Medical Center). Each site actively recruits for the prevention, cancer control, and treatment trials open within their facility, and is responsible for registering and following their respective patients. The affiliate sites are located as far as 150 miles from Springfield and provide a service to people who would otherwise have to travel over two hours for research related protocol treatments. Services cover 25,000 square miles and are available to 1.3 million people in urban and rural areas.
Additional information regarding Cancer Research for the Ozarks and trials provided within their facilities will be available on their Web site in the near future.
