First Responders
.................................................................................................................................................

St. John’s EMS staff members are not only leaders in the field, but they are also leaders in the communities they serve. They volunteer their time to many committees, boards, and emergency service agencies; teach community CPR, AED and first responder courses; perform “DWI Docu-dramas” at local high schools; and provide presentations to various civic organizations.

Excellence in education continues to be the cornerstone of our service. Our education staff has developed diverse and wide-reaching instructive programs. We offer core paramedic and EMT-B courses and a multitude of continuing education offerings throughout the year including Farmedic and Tactical Medic training.

We offered the first pediatric and BTLS Access sites in the state. St. John’s EMS staff frequently writes articles for Code 3 magazine, to date their efforts have provided over 2,000 CEUs statewide. A regional “Stars of Life” challenge is presented each year attracting many EMTs and paramedics throughout the region
