Women's Health Forum: Postpartum Depression

You just had a beautiful, healthy baby. You're supposed to be overwhelmed with joy ... right? Nearly all women experience the "baby blues" in the weeks after childbirth and 10-15 percent experience full-blown postpartum depression. Please join us for a special women's health forum on this important issue at  6 p.m., Thursday, May 15 at St. John's Hammons Heart Institute. Dr. Diane Sanford, a St. Louis-based clinical psychologist specializing in women's reproductive mental health, will be speaking.

David Redfern, M.D., returns to St. John’s to lead new OB hospitalist program

April 30, 2008 -
Nov. 17, 2004 is a date that stands out in Dr. David Redfern’s mind. Before returning to St. John’s in March to lead a new hospital-based OB/GYN or “laborist” program, Nov. 17, 2004 was the last time Dr. Redfern had delivered a baby.

St. John’s Cancer Center

April 18, 2008 -
St. John’s Foundation for Community Health announced a major gift from the O’Reilly family at the Foundation's first black-tie donor recognition event in St. Johns' new Patient Tower.

March 18, 2008 - Cigna Healthcare has announced a contract with St. John's Health System, effective July 15, 2008. Cigna has indicated that this agreement will cover 18,000 people in southwest Missouri. The contract will extend St. John's services to local residents of all Cigna's insurance plans. Residents covered by these plans will become eligible to use any St. John's hospitals and physicians.
