St. John’s Burn Center
offers a variety of burn and fire-related educational programs. These
educational programs include classroom education on fire safety for school
children, fire safety and first aid courses, professional lectures (first
responder needs and physician CME), and participation in various health and
safety fairs.
An Advanced Burn Life Support Course is also
provided, which is an eight hour course that focuses on the emergent care
and treatment of the burn victim from the time of injury until transport.
This course is recommended for physicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Community educational programs related to burn and fire topics can be
scheduled by contacting our Trauma and Burn Outreach Coordinator at
417-820-6672.
St. John’s Burn and Wound Center is dedicated
to promoting the safety and health of our community. A variety of community
services and educational opportunities are offered and can be tailored
educational programs to meet the needs of:
